Style Inspiration: Met Gala 2017

It's almost the first Monday in May! My favorite event of the year at one of my favorite places in the world! THE MET GALA AT THE METROPOLITAN MUSUEM OF ART in New York City! I have been obsessing over the Gala since 2014. This will be my fourth year covering the event on my blog and Instagram. In 2015, I was able to visit The Met and see Death Becomes Her. I was so amazed by it that I hung the postcard photos on my fairy light wall in my vanity room and I get to look at the fashion everyday!

In the past I have posted about my favorites looks past and present, most of them being Blake Lively. But, this year I decided to take it a step further and create every looks inspired by the theme of this years Gala, Rei Kawakubo. Anna Wintour made the decision to create this years exhibit based around the last forty years of fashion from founder of Comme des Garcons and designer, Rei Kawakubo.

The looks I put together on Polyvore are inspired by Comme des Garcons F/W 17-18 RTW Collection. I am so excited to see everyones looks for The Met Gala this year. Rei Kawakubo has a very artistic, organic, original and over the top extraordinary way of designing clothing. She has influenced fashion and more ways than most and is the first designer since YSL in 1983 to be the sole subject of the exhibit for the fashion gala.

Check out the styles below and remember if you head over to my Polyvore page you can shop the looks!
