Unicorns:
I have been obsessed with Unicorns since I was little, mainly because my mom used to have nick-nacks of Unicorns all over the house because she was just as obsessed. With the rise in population lately, I am loving all the Unicorn love running through everyone's veins. Unicorn clothes, costumes, make-up, frappuccinos, cake, hair and so much more. Recently, Jess bought me these fantastic Unicorn make-up brushes that I am obsessing over!

Unicorns symbolize purity, childhood, innocence and did I mention magic? Unicorns are so majestic and beautiful and the symbolic meaning has really taken an interest from this generation. From iridescent make-up to unicorn frappes at Starbucks this trend has really hit an all time high. Even Coachella had Unicorns running around, or at least people dressed like them. Check out all the awesome Unicorn trends below.

Mermaids:
Mermaids, oh Mermaids. So when it comes to Mermaids I love the symbolic meaning, matron of enchantment, it sounds like a fairytale. I love fairytales. The Mermaid trend had a high in Summer 2015 but still is lingering today, not as much as the Unicorn trend but it's around.

The Mermaid trends go as far as Mermaid Toast, which is really really good and healthy, and end somewhere around an actual beauty product for hair called Mermaid Hair, for those of you with long, luscious locks. Mermaid trends are in fashion, too. Sparkles and glitter, pastel colors and bralettes with long, flowing skirts. Coachella soaked up some of fashions hottest Mermaid trends to match those Unicorn trends.

Fairies:
Fairies are very fairytale-esque. A fairy symbolizes imagination, youth, free spirit, beauty and femininity. Fairies are beautiful mythical creatures and really bring me back to childhood. I always wanted to be a fairy, the beautiful wings, the outfits they wore in Thumbelina, it was all so enchanting.

Fairy trends include flower crowns, glitter make-up, short tutu skirts of pastel colors, light walls, such as the one I created in my vanity room and even the highlighter hair trends. Fairy trends are starting to go out of style but they remain if you believe.

Fairies, Mermaids and Unicorns almost go had in hand. The colors of pastel pinks, purples and blues mixed with gold, long flowing hair and tails, the iridescent colors of the rainbow, purity and innocence, a look back at your childhood and magic. Oh! And don't forget, they all have made an appearance in those amazing movies about my favorite witches and wizards, Harry Potter.

Unicorn blood had healing power and would keep a wizard alive. It's very rare and killing a unicorn for it's blood was very bad and meant that person would live a cursed life. Mermaids showed up in the fourth movie, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, for the second task required in the tournament. The Merpeople, as they were called in the movies, are mysterious, magical creatures. Fairies, or pixies in Harry Potter, were mischievous little creatures that played tricks and Professor Flitwick used them as live Christmas lights one year. Interesting.

Unicorn, Mermaid and Fairy trends bring out the child in everyone, it gives us a way out of being a serious adult, having fun and being able to let go. While some think the trends are over the top and out of control, I love the colors, the fashion and the beautiful, cutesy food. I hope the trends linger on. It's giving the world a sense of happiness and who doesn't want to live vicariously through Unicorns, Mermaids and Fairies over a rainbow?
