It's Back: Summer Reading List 2K17

Happy Summer! I love Summer, besides the fashion and no school I have so much extra time to read! I compiled a list of the top five books I will be digging into this Summer!

How To Murder Your Life (Photo: Amazon)
1. How To Murder Your Life by Cat Marnell
If this book isn't a roller coaster then i don't know what is. I have already began reading this one and its intense. The memoir of a young beauty editor who had a hard life as a teen and fell in love with drugs. It gives me shivers every time I read of one of her new experiences. As a 26 year old, all anyone knew was that she worked for Lucky Magazine, no one knew about her secret life of drugs and partying. But just how far will she go to "Murder" her life? Its a tale of self-loathing, self-sabotage and fighting a disease we all have seen in this world destroying people we love and the world around us. I can't wait to finish it, though and it has great reviews so check this one out, I know you have nothing better to do then read this book! Amazon $15.55

Dead Letters (Photo: Amazon)
2. Dead Letters by Caite Dolan-Leach
I haven't gotten to start this one but this book and the next two I actually ordered from "Book of the Month" They literally ship a new book to your front door every month! You get to choose which book too, I signed up the second I learned about it and haven't gone back! Dead Letters is a mysterious tale of a missing woman who lead her twin sister on a twisted and crazy scavenger hunt but the thing is, her sister thought she was dead. So how is she receiving messages from her? Did her sister plan this as one of her little games? Is she punishing her sister for leaving her? I cannot wait to read this book next, I just want to know!! Amazon $15.66

Since We Fell (Photo: Amazon)
3. Since We Fell by Dennis Lehane
Since We Fell is about a former Journalist, Rachel, who has a breakdown and is now a virtual shut-in. She lives in a world of tension, fears, deception and altering truths. More or less anxiety has set in. She is trying to live an ideal life with an ideal husband but things are not turning out that way at all. The story becomes hearing breaking, suspenseful but also is romantic and sophisticated. So many emotions in one book! Make sure you pick this one up this summer, too! Amazon $16.71

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

4. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I love a good book about the upper east-side or LA. This story takes place in Hollywood and releases our inner Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. This legendary film actress reflects on her rise to the top and hitting rock bottom, the loss of loves and the secrets she held in. Ready to make her life story public she chooses a random journalist that no one understands why. As she tells her story, including the seven husbands, the journalist, Monique begins to see that their paths tragically cross. The two women must conquer what is ahead and see what it means to face the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Amazon $17.08

Manhattan On The Rocks

5. Manhattan On The Rocks by Harayda
This book actually released in 2004. Like I said, I love an upper east-side story. This 25 year old moved from Cleveland to Manhattan to live out her dreams and work at a fashion magazine. She hopes to be the head honcho one day at the top rated zine. Dealing with a "Devils Wears Prada" boss is the only thing in her way. But she doesn't let that stop her as she finds romance and professional redemption writing a novel that is very Sexy & The City esque. Similar to "The Devil Wears Prada" "Manhattan on the Rocks is written by a former senior editor at Glamour Magazine. Since "The Devil Wears Parada" is my favorite, I am excited to read this one! Amazon $3.17
