Met Gala 2015

Rihanna's Guo Pei robe was all the rave, Beyonce left everyone waiting as she was fashionably late and Sarah Jessica Park stole the show with her Philip Treacy, Chinese inspired headdress. The Met Gala 2015 red carpet was a night to remember.

Celebrities, media, fans and paparazzi gathered at The Metropolitan Museum of Art this evening to enjoy not only the Chinese influenced fashion that graced the red carpet but the China: Through The Looking Glass exhibit that takes a glance at the Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. The exhibit will reveal high fashion juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and other art, including films, to reveal enchanting reflections of Chinese imagery. Offering designs from designers such as Paul Poiret and Yves Saint Laurent along with Alexander McQueen and Roberto Cavalli. The exhibit is set to open to the public May 7 and end on August 19. It is going to be one gorgeous and influential summer at the Met.

The fashion on the red carpet was like no other as many celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna, Justin Beiber and Jennifer Lopez wore designs inspired by the China: Through The Looking Glass exhibit. Justin wore a black jacket with a gold dragon motif while Jennifer Lopez stunned in a sheer black dress with a red dragon on her bodice. Sarah Jessica Parker along with Karen Elson, Rihanna and Kate Hudson all wore Chinese inspired headdresses to go with their ensembles. SJP graced her headdress with an original H&M gown.

Anna Wintour walked the red carpet into her Costume Institute wearing a floral Chanel gown just in time for Spring. The Olsen twins made their appearance early wearing John Galliano and both in their signature black color. Celebrities such as Katy Perry, Zandaya, Madonna, Solange Knowles, Lady Gaga and of course the lovely Rihanna wore dresses so over the top mouths dropped in "aww" at how gorgeous they truly were.

Extravagant and wearable art were not the only fashion trends of the night as sheer seemed to leave plenty of ladies practically naked, in a good way, on the red carpet. Jennifer Lopez in her Versace dragon sheer dress, Kim Kardashian rocked a sheer and white Roberto Cavalli gown with a train of white feathers, Beyonce stole the show with her late appearance in a sheer and crystals Givenchy gown and Joan Smalls wore a gorgeous purple and black sheer Roberto Cavalli gown.

Other celebrities such as the Victoria's Secret Angels, Lily Aldridge, Adriana Lima, Candace Swanepoel and the former Angel, Miranda Kerr made an appearance at The Met Gala. Also celebrities such as Usher, Chiara Ferragni, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner (although not arriving together), Dakota Johnson and plenty of others showed up in their stunning ensembles. I personally missed Blake Lively and was hoping the last years best dress couple would show but that was a no go.

The Met Gala 2015 red carpet proved to be trendy, stylish, fashionable and over the top extravagant. I can't wait to visit the Met myself for a personal look at China: Through The Looking Glass. Until then....
